KnowledgeWorks has invited Lisette Torres-Gerald of TERC to participate in a workshop called “Imagining Futures of Math Education” in Oakland, CA, on July 25 and 26.

The workshop aims to reimagine math education specifically for Black and Latino students as well as students from low-income backgrounds. Facilitated by KnowledgeWorks’ Strategic Foresight team and futurist Lonny Brooks, the collaborative and generative workshop will bring together other futurists, speculative thinkers, and designers. Senior Researcher at TERC, Lisette Torres-Gerald recently had her Race, Ethnicity and Education paper – “Sobreviviendo sin Sacrificando (Surviving without Sacrificing): An intersectional DisCrit testimonio from a tired mother-scholar of color” – turned into a book chapter by Taylor & Francis.
