VisTe is based on three models: one for teaching and learning argumentation, one for the extended PD sequence, and the VisTe coaching cycle, which is embedded in successive approximations of practice.
Successive Approximations of Practice
Starting with teacher doing math in a workshop, VisTe activities get closer and closer to the reality of the classroom.
Phases of Argumentation
We break down argumentation into four stages: Generating cases, making conjectures, justifying conjectures, and concluding arguments.
VisTe Coaching Cycle
While compatible with other cycles, our coaching cycle introduces visualization planning into teachers’ and coaches’ repertoires.
