SRI International, TERC, and Girls Inc. Partner with AC Transit Inspire High School Girls to Create Greener Public Transportation Solutions

As part of the Girls InnovaTE3 (Girls Innovating With Technology as Entrepreneurial Environmental Engineers) programming, SRI International, TERC, and Girls Inc. of Alameda County have partnered with Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) for a new community action project called “Green Riders”. “Green Riders: Innovative Transportation Systems” encourages the girls who participate in InnovaTE3 to design environmentally-friendly public transportation solutions. This youth-led project is part of the larger Girls InnovaTE3 program—an NSF-funded initiative that introduces underserved urban girls grades 8-11 to Earth system science and STEM careers through a novel afterschool curriculum and programming.
