TERC’s Sue Doubler Quoted in Grant Funding Article for Huffington Post

CAMBRIDGE, MA– TERC’s Sue Doubler was interviewed for Douglas Haller’s “7 Tips for Funding Science Education”, which appeared in The Huffington Post on June 24th, 2013. Haller contacted three PIs/project directors for National Science Foundation and National Aeronautics and Space Administrations-funded research programs and asked, ‘In a challenging economic climate, what do you need to know to successfully secure funding to support and grow your STEM effort?’ Doubler, Paul Secor of Secor Strategies, and Kim Jacques, a professional grant writer, all shared their best practices around retaining and attracting future funding.

Sue Doubler, Ph.D, is the Co-director of the Center for Science Teaching and Learning (CSTL) and a Senior Researcher at TERC. She has over 20 years of experience in research design and implementation. Doubler is currently the PI for the The Inquiry Project, a National Science Foundation-funded initiative designing a grades 3-5 physical science curriculum, and Talk Science, an accompanying professional development program facilitating productive talk in the science classroom. Previously, Doubler served as a co-PI for the Fulcrum Leadership Institute in partnership with Tufts University, and led the development of a fully-online Master’s program in science education for K-8 teachers. She was also an Associate Professor of Science Education at Lesley University, and worked for 17 years as an instructional specialist and teacher in the Winchester Public Schools.
