The HSSP project is a coordinated effort among stakeholders in Arizona to increase students’ STEM interest and career awareness, and to improve educational outcomes in science. To achieve this goal, school/district sites were provided with financial and technical support to implement STEM programs across multiple grade levels. A mixed methods evaluation was conducted by SEEC, in order to describe STEM integration and practices over the course of the project and ways in which Sites will sustain their new initiatives. SEEC is conducting longitudinal and quasi-experimental analyses of the impact of specific HSSP activities on teacher and student interest and feelings of STEM efficacy as well as student achievement.
