Author's NoteWe are out there doing this trip that followed the path of the salmon, and we’re laying down prayers and ceremony for the salmon. But we are really doing it for the next generation and future generations. And these two were able to participate in a lot of that. It was just really cool to see their excitement in going paddling, riding bikes, and doing all of these things that we’re all doing as adults, and really just harping on their end how important this cultural knowledge is. This was along the river during that two-week trip. … There were a bunch of kids and families with us. They were just some of the happiest kids out camping, running around, and joining us to do what we were there for.
