[Name of tribal] community, and just the Native community, in general. … I’d say that’s factor number one that helped me stay in it, as the motivation. … You need to want possessions. You need to want fame. You need to want power. It’s like, no, I really don’t. And it’s just this very, very deep-rooted part of my identity, is that commitment. So that would be factor number one. And support. Support, the people in my life who agree with that, who say, “Yeah. That, those are goals and values worth having and worth keeping.” A lot of that support’s come from AISES. AISES is a big factor why I’ve stayed in this, because my values are supported and shared.
