Author's NoteAll during my undergraduate career, I was not able to work around anyone who looks like me, have someone as my advisor who looks like me, or just have that comradeship that comes with identifying with someone from a similar background. That’s why I am going to become a doctor, so no one from an Indigenous background would ever have to endure what I went through this summer, which was basically having to explain my Indigenous perspective and constantly feel like I was under attack.
