Program Enrollment
Thanks for being interested in Head Start on Engineering! This free program is designed to give Head Start families fun, hands-on activities to do at home with the whole family that support children’s learning and development. All program events and materials are in Spanish and English.
What does the program involve?
The program starts in January and ends in May. It includes the following:
- Three hands-on activity kits for the whole family that each include a book, a parent activity guide, and all the materials you will need
- Four Zoom meetings for parents and caregivers to learn more about supporting your children and share ideas with other families
- Regular communication with a program liaison to answer questions and provide help if needed
- Additional support resources, such as instructional videos for each activity, activity extension ideas, and more
What else will I be asked to do if I participate?
This program is part of a research project funded by the National Science Foundation. If you participate, you will be asked to provide feedback in a few ways:
- Participating in one Zoom or phone conversation at the beginning of the program and one at the end
- Sharing pictures and reflections about your experiences with the activities
All your information will be confidential. We will never share your name or other identifying information without your permission.
Will I get anything for participating?
All the activities and other program resources are yours to keep. As a thanks for providing feedback, you’ll also receive $50 in gift cards that can be used online or at any store.
