TERC’s Evaluation Group is conducting a NEAGEP (The Northeast Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate)-wide summative evaluation to identify what factors influence the recruitment, retention, career choices, and success of underrepresented minority (URM) students in STEM Ph.D programs across ten institutions in the Northeast. Evaluators are working with NEAGEP leaders to develop protocols for interviews and surveys, which will be conducted with 550 current STEM doctoral students and 565 Ph.D. graduates of NEAGEP institutions. The results will be used in developing new activities for the next phase of NEAGEP. Funded by the University of Massachusetts Amherst through a grant from the National Science Foundation.
