CAMBRIDGE, MA–TERC's own Senior Evaluator Dr. Karen Mutch-Jones is presenting tomorrow, October 20, 2009, at the STEM Summit IV: Ensuring the Pipeline meeting in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. During the "Career Awareness-Life Science Career Development Initiative" session, Dr. Mutch-Jones will present data gleaned from her work as an External Evaluator for the Life Science Career Development Intiative—an innovative program sponsored by the Massachusetts Biotechnology Education Council geared towards connecting high school students with the biotechnology industry's career options and role models. The moderator for this session is Bob Ross, Director of the BioTeach Program. Panelists include Paula Beisheim, the Science Department Chair at Norton High School in Norton, Massachusetts, and Janice Chiappone, Director of Guidance at Bellingham High School in Bellingham, Massachusetts.

The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Summits are affiliated with the Massachusetts STEM Initiative and designed to increase the number of STEM programs, STEM teachers, and student interest in and preparation for careers in the STEM fields in the state of Massachusetts.
