New Publication: Involving Students in Student-Teacher-Scientist Partnerships
March 11, 2003
The Earth System Scientist Network (ESSN) () has worked with scientists to develop research projects for the participation of 8th-12th grade students.
This extended abstract, written by Tamara Shapiro Ledley, Nick Haddad, Jeffrey Lockwood, and David Brooks of Drexel University, outlines key questions in the development and implementation of the Atmospheric Aerosols: Collecting and Correlating Data project. The project, supported through funding from the National Science Foundation, is an example of the type of student-teacher-scientist collaborations that can support inquiry-based learning and teaching methods. This abstract was presented at the 2003 meeting of the American Meteorological Society (http://www.ametsoc.org/AMS/) by Tamara Ledley of TERC.
