CAMBRIDGE, MA– TERC Senior Scientist Tamara Ledley will join Frank Niepold from NOAA, Anthony Leiserowitz from Yale, and Aaron Pope from the California Academy of Sciences in a webinar on the state of United States climate change education for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15) taking place on December 7 through December 18 in Copenhagen, Denmark. This webinar will be recorded on December 9, 2009.

The panelists are members of the Climate Literacy Network (CLN)—a diverse forum comprised of roughly 90 stakeholders dedicated to the promotion of climate science education. The Climate Literacy Network was established in 2008 and formulated the benchmark Essential Principles of Climate Education. CLN’s weekly meetings and activities include a sharp focus on implementing climate science into formal and informal educational contexts, but also include important discussions on policy decisions, climate literacy impact in community groups and impact on ordinary citizens. More information about the Climate Literacy Network can be found at http://climateliteracynow.org.
